Ensuring measurable benefits were realised on a major transformation programme.
A public sector customer within the Defence and Security Sector, was undertaking a major digital transformation programme. The customer needed to speed up delivery of the programme benefits and drive better engagement and planning from strategic levels through to operational and tactical delivery of services.
Raptor was tasked with providing support to drive successful benefits realisation, working alongside colleagues in a number of government departments.
Raptor established a common view of the as-is end-to-end delivery environment, establishing the key features, good practise and main challenges from strategic to operational planning levels. Raptor then worked with senior stakeholders across Government Departments to establish specific, measurable, realisable and time-bound (SMART) Benefits Measures and a Benefits Realisation Plan. We ensured activities drove benefits realisation at pace by agreeing plans with the joint benefits owners and focussing on all aspects of the required digital change across People, Processes, Information, Technology and Facilities. We worked closely with the teams responsible for delivering the change interventions as well as the benefits owners to drive, monitor and track delivery of the benefits. We also identified a range of additional improvement actions and worked with operational planning teams to implement the changes.
Outcomes / Result Raptor successfully secured the buy-in and active participation of the joint benefits owners to the measures and plans and ensured that the benefits were demonstrably delivered on time. We led development of new cross-Departmental ways-of-working to plan and deliver operational services and hand over responsibility to the BAU team.
